Knowsley Sport and Culture Awards 2015

Local nominees from across both sports and culture came together on Friday 9th October, for an evening celebrating the fantastic work of volunteers, clubs, coaches, young people and schools from across the borough.

The esteemed event was hosted at the the Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park in Huyton, and featured appearances from prestigous guests such as former Liverpool manager Roy Evans. Over 200 guests were in attendance to acknowledge the achievements of the people of Knowsley, and the schools and young people within Knowsley School Sport Partnership were represented by some stunning performances and a variety of awards.

Chloe Collins from Lord Derby Academy wowed the crowd with a brilliant musical performance, whilst Macy Donnelly, a world dance champion also from Lord Derby, entertained with a breath taking performance.

Students from All Saints delivered a captivating rendition of Mamma Mia, whilst the Evelyn Staff Choir showcased their talent.

Schools also accepted their Schools Mark  awards, recognising their commitment to school sport throughout the year, whilst a number of school teams and young people picked up awards for their commitment and achievements. Paul Cronin, former Head Teacher of St Laurences Primary School, also recieved the much deserved Lifetime Achievement Award for his tireless work within sport across Kirkby and Knowsley. Following his retirement he leaves behind a legacy of participation and success, both within the school and the wider community.
