Thank You!!
KSSP would like to thank all of schools, teachers, parents and partners for another amazing year of competitions and events!
Over this last academic year, the Partnership has planned and delivered over 112 competitions and events, with over 6554 children and young people taking part!
As always our competitions have allowed opportunities for all abilities to enjoy and compete at an appropriate level, from Celebration events such as our Learning and Discovery Festivals, Boccia, Goal Ball and Seated Volleyball targeting SEND and less active children, through to our Aspire events such as our extensive programme of football leagues offering high level competition.
In particular our Celebrate and Inspire events have continued to grow, both those that are SEND specific and those aimed at less active children or those strugglnig with transition. Over the year 51 schools and over 490 children and young people have taken part in these targeted events.
We also held our first ever MATP Festival in partnership with Bluebell Park, a highly sucessful event that focused on delivering a structured and targeted festival for all ages and abilities within the school. A carousel of activities in line with the four corner stones of the MATP model, dexterity, striking, mobility and kicking were delivered, with each session adapted to meet the complex needs of the participants.
The goal was to allow the children and young people to participate and compete at an appropriate level, to encourage more physical activity and to celebrate their success. The activities delivered were a range of stations that encouraged the participants to explore their own movement capabilities in the categories of dexterity, mobility, kicking and striking.
32 children and young people took part and it was fantastic to observe all children taking part and being physically active at an appropriate level for themselves, whilst having their achievements and accomplishments celebrated and recognised by staff and students alike.
Our Sylvia Gore Girls Football Leagues continued to be extremely successful, with over 19 schools and 446 girls taking part throughout the year, building on last year’s success and continuing to work towards our aim of promoting equal access to football within all Knowsley schools.
Our Primary Football Leagues also continue to grow and to showcase the best tlaent in Knowsley, with over 38 schools and 1310 children taking part over the year.
Plans are already underway to make next year even bigger and better, once again a huge thank you to everyone that we work with and we look forward to seeing you all in September!
