National School Sport Week

The Football World Cup was the inspiration for a national school sport week’s mass participation event which was held at Christ the King Centre for Learning on the 27^th June. Over five hundred Children from St Brigid’s, St Gabriel’s, Hope and  Stockbridge Village schools attended the event.

After an inspiring warm up the children participated in a variety of activities from athletics and multi sports to football. All sessions were delivered by Young Sports Leaders from Lord Derby’s Academy and Knowsley Park.

To celebrate the Football World Cup the schools were assigned competing countries and before the event the children learnt about the country, its  culture, beliefs and past-times.
