Inspire – Widening the definition of the competitive environment to develop young people’s character, confidence and life skills. This type of event will be aimed at a specific demographic of young people, for example children that have never represented the school before, less active children, SEND children or children identified as at risk or exclusion.
These types of events still have a competitive element but how success within the event is measured will vary, with an emphasis on School Games Values as measureable attributes within the event. Participants will also be given the opportunity to self-referee and self-regulate the events. For example a traditional scoring method may be combined with the participants also scoring the other team based on their teamwork or honesty.
